Change application language of GVim

Recently I have been using Vim more often to give it a try. I use GVim for windows. Unfortunately my windows installation of my office laptop is in German, though I changed the display language to English. GVim apparently doesn’t mind the display language and shows itself in German.

I added the following lines to the _vimrc file, which is located within the program files folder of vim, if you’re using windows.

set langmenu=en_US
let $LANG = 'en_US'
